I recently returned from a lovely positive thinking seminar* and I wanted to share a highlight with you! The concept of pre-paving was introduced as a technique to consciously build your life.
To PRE-PAVE you simply take a little bit of time to mentally envision a future scenario. See it working out in the way that seems best (allowing for the fact that there may be even better outcomes of which you are currently unaware.) SEE and FEEL yourself enjoying the scenario in the way that seems optimal. For example, the best athletes often envision themselves making baskets or goals many times in advance of actually taking the physical action. This is the important task of lining up the energy.
Some people are naturally more optimistic and may do this already, however many people are not aware of the advantages of expecting and aligning with optimal outcomes. In fact, the human brain is evolutionarily wired to look for problems so overcoming this habit may take a bit of effort.
Pre paving is a small discipline but if you try it, you may discover that it yields large results!
