As a society we have come to exalt distorted values and to repress what should truly be exalted. For example, qualities such as compassion, generosity and kindness are often seen as weak and unnecessary while materialism dominates. This is unhealthy for the individual and the society, however we can’t seem to find the way out of it. What can be done?
Taking time to focus on true values and priorities is a place one can begin. We have to transcend such issues as the following:
-We are programmed with a drive towards acquisitiveness of excess material objects.
-We have unconscious responses such as fear or anger at others
-Our love relationships can be laced with selfishness and lower energies
-We do not prioritize our spiritual, mental or physical health but rather fall into addictive, and destructive patterns
-We have come to obsess over, feed and exalt the physical form of or body, as if it is eternal, rather than the soul which is the actual part of us that will last
-We often have blocks to even hearing such information as this, as if we are unable to tolerate deep insight, and defer to shallow thinking patterns
So to transcend this, we want to purify our motives and intentions, and we need to love and accept ourselves as we are! Also importantly, we want to see others as our self. This means valuing every soul as a good being which has come to interpret the Divine through its own unique path. We have to recognize the value of human life.
We also want to spend time in nature to reprogram ourselves with pure, grounded, peaceful energy. We want to practice acts of generosity and simple kindness, such as smiling at others. We want to release the rushed feeling of time shortness, or material feelings of lack and scarcity. These are illusions which lead to deprived behavior instead of the graciousness which is natural.
The more we practice kindness, love and good conduct, the more we will enjoy it and our inherent greatness will shine through to nourish us and others!
