WHY CRITICIZING OTHERS CAN BE DETRIMENTAL TO YOU
You may have heard the biblical statement “Judge not lest ye be judged”. This could be interpreted as meaning that if you judge others you subject yourself to the possibility of being judged.
However, there is also the basic psychological fact that residing in a state of agitation is not advantageous. Thus, if one is often finding fault with others, one is not existing in a state of gratitude, peace or joy.
If you are frequently criticizing others, even under the guise of trying to uphold standards or to improve others, you are not allowing yourself to be in your most positive state. In fact you are likely residing in a state that diminishes your personal happiness and productivity.
So instead of thinking so much about the choices or actions of others, it may make sense to focus upon one’s own development.
Psychological patterns and habits can be hard to break. If you would like help in cultivating your positive thoughts check out my Think Happy Thoughts E-Course here!
