Peace of Mind

It is important for humans to recognize the nature of their own minds. Often we agonize or feel deprived because we have not achieved a certain goal set forth by our mind. However the truth may be that achieving that may actually not satisfy us at all, or even do us harm! Even in the case that we are temporarily satisfied by our accomplishment, the mind comes up with another future goal to set its sights upon. And again, a person feels unsettled until this goal comes into sight.

So what is the solution to all of this?

Accepting the present moment as it is, and even celebrating it, is a wonderful tool to use overcome the inherent tendency of the mind towards discontent! If people can train themselves to look for blessings in the moment, using exercises such as gratitude lists and positive reflection, then they have hope of achieving peace in the current moment!
